LINEAGE DÉJÀ VU — The Continuation of Genetic Behavior and Excellence in the Kamia Male Line

Across the history of Kamia Kennels, certain males have defined the architecture of the line — not only through structure and longevity, but through the unmistakable behavioral intelligence that passes from one generation to the next. Every so often, a young male arrives who doesn’t simply resemble his predecessors; he replays them.

This is lineage déjà vu — the moment when a pup five generations removed expresses the same stance, the same terrain-reading pattern, the same emotional regulation, and the same working intelligence as a foundational ancestor.

Today, that continuity is seen clearly in Murdock, whose field behavior mirrors that of Desna, despite the generational distance between them.

It’s like I’m seeing Desna every time Murdock moves through the bush — the way he stops, turns, checks the wind, and reads terrain is so identical it’s almost uncanny. Their handler focus is the same as well: instantaneous response, perfect awareness, and that calm confidence that makes working with them such a pleasure.

This is exactly why our clients come back for their second and third Kamia Elkhounds. They know they’re getting the same stability, the same intelligence, the same natural working ability — one great Elkhound after another, generation after generation.

Desna on left, Murdock on right – 5 Generations separate them, it’s like working the same pup for me.

THE DESNA LINE — Takoda × Gaeda

Desna is a direct son of Takoda and Gaeda, carrying the early Kamia male architecture:

  • calm assertiveness
  • terrain intelligence
  • balanced structure
  • natural off‑leash reliability
  • emotional steadiness

Desna’s winter field posture — weight balanced, tail carriage correct, head forward, reading terrain — became the benchmark for the Kamia male line during his era.

The famous Desna, this is who I named the training after, he was so great!

THE MURDOCK LINE — A Dual Descent from Takoda

Murdock arrives through two converging Takoda lines, each carrying behavioral mentorship and structural excellence.

1. The Tora → Kai → Rita → Kaley Line (Takoda’s Daughter Line)

Takoda’s daughter Tora produced Kai, who produced Rita, who produced Kaley, the dam of Murdock.

This maternal chain carries:

  • Takoda’s emotional regulation
  • Tora’s terrain intelligence
  • Kai’s maternal stability
  • Rita’s structural correctness
  • Kaley’s high-output working ability

This is the female-driven continuity of Takoda’s behavioral architecture.

2. The Rico → Ark → Arco Line (Takoda’s Mentorship Line)

The two greatest ancient bloodlines converge in Murdock. You have the ancient Norrland in Takoda and the Ancient Jamthund in Rico
Rico and his son Ark, the mentorship begins straight from Finland.
Ark is Grandfather to Murdock – He was mentored by Rico and Takoda, he then mentored Murdock, behavior patterns, genetic patterns, all evident.

Aina, mentored by Takoda and MANE, produced Ark. Ark, mentored by Takoda, MANE, and Teeko, produced Arco. Arco is the sire of Murdock.

This paternal chain carries:

  • Takoda’s mentorship imprint
  • Rico’s impeccable Finnish capability
  • Ark’s field intelligence
  • Arco’s working drive and stability

This is the male-driven continuity of Takoda’s behavioral architecture.

Together, these two lines converge in Murdock.

He is a double Takoda descendant, receiving both the genetic architecture and the behavioral mentorship that defined the early Kamia males.

Murdock, every bit as good as Desna, literally operational exactly the same. Behaviors, style, movement, response times, all incredible.

THE DÉJÀ VU EFFECT — Why Murdock Replicates Desna

Even though Desna and Murdock are separated by five generations, they share:

  • the same foundational ancestor (Takoda)
  • the same behavioral mentorship lineage
  • the same terrain-processing algorithm
  • the same emotional regulation signature
  • the same structural geometry

This is why their field posture is nearly identical:

  • head forward
  • ears set and reading distance
  • balanced stance
  • calm, confident awareness
  • natural off‑leash decision-making

Different seasons, different environments — same dog, expressed through lineage.

This is not coincidence. This is genetic continuity.

And if you think I haven’t seen that look over the shoulder before, haha. Check this out. The Old Boy Himself!

THE RESTORATION PROGRAM — Proof of Long-Range Stability

The Kamia Restoration Program was built on the principle that:

True excellence is preserved when structure, temperament, and field intelligence remain intact across generations.

Murdock’s replication of Desna’s behavioral architecture is living proof of that principle.

It shows:

  • stability of temperament
  • stability of working intelligence
  • stability of emotional regulation
  • stability of structural correctness
  • stability of terrain-reading behavior

This is the hallmark of a successful multi‑generation breeding program.

THE LINEAGE SUMMARY

Desna Line

  • Takoda × Gaeda → Desna

Murdock Line

  • Takoda → Tora → Kai → Rita → Kaley → Murdock
  • Rico → Ark → Arco → Murdock
ARCO father to Murdock exceptional handler focus and instinctive transfer.

Shared Foundation

  • Both trace directly back to Takoda
  • Both carry Takoda’s behavioral imprint
  • Both express the same field intelligence
  • Both demonstrate the same emotional regulation
  • Both show the same structural geometry

This is why Murdock feels like working with Desna again — the same instincts, the same processing, the same calm confidence.

This is a magnificent Elkhound!

Another 6 generations from now I’ll be hiking with another one of these Exact Boys! Go Figure. Merv

Merv hiking with Rico – Rico is the fourth Generation on the male side of Murdock. So it’s Rico – Ark – ARCO – Murdock

CONCLUSION — The Kamia Signature

Lineage déjà vu is not an accident. It is the result of:

  • correct pairings
  • correct mentorship
  • correct maternal architecture
  • correct preservation of temperament
  • correct structural selection

Desna and Murdock stand as two points on the same line — separated by years, united by genetics, and expressing the Kamia signature with absolute clarity.

This is the continuation of excellence. This is the Kamia line. This is the Restoration Program working exactly as designed.

This genetic continuation going back generations in the Kamia program on BOTH SIDES here illustrated with Murdock!

Takoda mentors Aina in off leash and behavior in remote terrain
Greatest Norwegian Elkhound male Takoda mentoring Ark
Murdock and Grandpa Ark off leash Desna program work. Ark mentors Murdock!
Way back of course Tora was mentoring Aina. Tora is 5 generations back from Murdock and Aina 4 generations.
Without a doubt of course Takoda mentors all the Murdock Generational Grandmothers, including Mia, Tora, Kai and Rita, but not Kayley, that was Ark.
What is absolutely super cool about Murdock is his lineage traces back up through Rico to Rico’s Grandma, Feija, shown here with me, she is the Incredible Triple Hunting Champion of Satu’s. Talk about getting some mentoring in the bloodline!
These are the incredible Great Grandmothers of Murdock, Aina on one side, and Kai on the other. Aina mother of Ark and Kai mother of Rita.
Karu and I fall hiking. Karu is an incredible companion. Don’t forget this entire line is fortified of each side in mulitple places to incredible genetics. Karu is the Great Grandfather of Murdock, you can’t imagine how many ways he traces back to insanely good Elkhounds.
Karu’s lineage in Finland, Grandfather Kassu and Mother Riitu , Kassu is a Double Champion and Karu’s mother is A Triple Champion. These are all powering this genetic powerhouse Murdock. This is four and five generations.
Murdock has another genetic powerhouse side as well. This is his Norway infusion coming from Bram. Nordic Champions! This is 5 generations back.

Murdock carries Nordic Champions in multiple Directions. Nordic Champions on the Norwegian Side and Nordic Champions on the Swedish Side.

We all know the mentorship starts early. The genetic instinctive passdown, as well as behavioral. Aina’s mother Lisa, Finnish Bear Champion, giving little Aina a wonderful start. This is 5th generation back from Murdock.
Murdock’s roots run very deep. This is Aina’s Grandmother Salopellon Tellu, Champion hunting female, Lisa’s mom. She has influence at 6th generation you can not miss the imprints.
