Full Blood Elkhound Pups in Montana now 4 weeks old

The incredible Full Blood Elkhound Litter of Nine restoration and preservation Elkhound puppies are now 4 weeks old. Linda is doing such great work with these rascals. Wow! She is setting them up to be such great personal handler focused working dogs its amazing!

The Beautiful Revna

Revna has her second litter of Full Blood Elkhounds

She has just completed a great video on the males from the litter and they are Total Rock Stars! Whoa, these are some stout boys. Moose and Bear hunting champions from many countries line the background of these great pups. These are also the very best handler focused lineages in the world, you can see the behavior in the pups already, hanging out with Linda, just happy to be around.

The father of these pups is a legend, he is Ark. First Jamthund Born in Canada and was held back to be one of the main foundation lineage Swedish Elkhounds to start the Full Blood Elkhound restoration program.

Swedish Elkhounds like Ark are some of the very best at handler focus and off leash work in remote terrain.

Here is a look at Ark working in the high country with me. These males will be even better than their father.

Ark is a natural Bob Tail, a truly blessed Elkhound, I put an article on this a while back, check it out.

These two big dark boys are the Great Grand Father and Grand Father of the litter of Nine Full Blood Elkhounds from Revna and Ark. This is Takoda and Rico.

These are what many of these big boys are going to look like.

There are a few big Grey boys I noticed in the video as well. Of course you can not underestimate the power of genetic pull of the father of Revna. The Finnish Rock Star Karu.

Karu Stud Dog Norwegian Elkhound

Karu brings in the absolute diverse Norwegian Elkhound foundation bloodline from his Champion Parents in Finland. His entire bloodline has not been in North America before and are the ultimate working Norwegian Elkhound Champions.

When you pair up Rico and Karu, both from Finland from the absolute best working Champion hunting lineages you have contributions from premier genetics going back to the start of the Associations and beyond, all the way back thousands of years.

These males from this litter will be extremely versatile with full instinct capabilities. We can step back a little further on these boys to Revna’s other Grandfather, her mom Tekla’s father Bram.

Bram, Great Grandfather to the Revna litter with Ark.

As a first generation Norwegian Elkhound male in Canada and only bred in our Kamia Kennels program Bram brings in bloodlines that are very diverse even from the Finland bloodlines, but especially the North American, Canadian Norrland bloodlines. This combination of Tekla’s Mom and Bram was incredible. These males carry the very best of the Champion bloodlines of Norwegian Elkhounds in Norway through this genetic link. Nordic Champions going back to the start of the Association in this part of the pups lineage.

Combining these great lineages just leads to some of the best combinations of Elkhounds in all areas of the world. We haven’t even touched on the mothers at all. But the males behind the mothers in these great lines are intense.

Rico and Aina, parents of Ark trace back to the very best.

Rico and Aina and I. These are the parents of Ark.

The famous Satu, one of the Premier Breeders of Jamthunds in the world is the breeder of Rico. She was also instrumental in assisting me in working out the bloodline details for the Norwegian Elkhound contributions to the genetic pool, but also as you know, the Swedish Elkhound contributions. She has been a great friend and is extremely happy to see her work over the decades build this foundation of restoration and bloodline Elkhounds.

Satu and her famous Sumu, International Champion.

These little Rock Star males from Revna and Ark will go on to become legends in the Elkhound world. They are only the second litter of Full Blood Elkhounds born in the USA and will power the restoration of both the Norwegian Elkhound genetic pool, but also they are full capable to power the new genetic pool of Swedish Elkhounds as well.

It continues many, many generations back, Champion after Champion. We can trace these incredible contributing lineages to magnificent male, after magnificent male. Of course the founding first female Jamthund to come to North America, Ark’s mother Aina was insanely good. The Champions that line her background are incredible. As there are so many big males in this litter I can’t help but she Aina’s Grandfather, the Champion Rusmosen Eetu. Many of those big boys in the litter of Nine Full Blood Elkhounds could come out exactly like this ancient Rock Star.

Rusmosen Eetu – Aina’s Grandfather. Jamthund Foundation Male.

The versatility of the genetics in this restoration bloodline is so vast. From deep remote terrain working to urban and GQ settings, these boys will fit right in.

Ark, High Mountain Hiking
Ark and I in the City of Greenwood, City Hall!
Karu and I fall hiking. Karu is an incredible companion.

Generations I have hiked with this bloodline on both sides with many of the dogs. This is the Great Grandfather and the Great Great Grandmother of the pups. Hiked with them off leash for life.

Decades of hiking with the lineage of these great Full bloods. Here is the Grandfather and Great Great Grandmother.

My best buddy and lifelong companion Takoda will place in the Norrland bloodline, the purest and oldest known Elkhound genetic. I can see him in many of the males coming out already. Those folks getting these pups, they are going to be living the dream, believe me. No better Elkhound exist than these pups.

Takoda, my lifelong companion. Norrland Elkhound bloodline contributor. Insanely good male. Father to Luna, who is mother to Revna.

It’s an exciting time for the Elkhound breed. Reach out to us about these pups and and I’ll walk you through how you can become part of this incredible effort to restore the genetic base.

Hats off to Linda for the absolutely awesome work she has done in this effort and the previous. As well, many Thanks to all of our clients that are stepping up to give us a hand in this Elkhound preservation.

Big huge Thanks to Satu, Russ and Beth who have Rico, all our other co-breeders and bloodline contributors from around the world too.
