Historic Full Blood Elkhound Litter
Kamia Kennels has a brand new historic Full Blood Elkhound litter in Montana. Linda has assisted Vaeda who whelped out 8 of the absolute best Full Bloods and first Full Bloods in USA hisotry.
The Norwegian Elkhound is currently listed as endangered in North America. Kamia Kennels is the only Preservation breeder in North America.
The Full Bloods are the restoration of the genetic pool. Type breeders have a finite pool of genetic material that they have been working with, slowly depleting all the genetic material over the last 100 plus years of the Types that were segregated and assembled into the “Registered Pool of Elkhounds”. As this pool was finite, they have reached a point of no diversity left.
Kamia Kennels as a preservation breeder operates from the perspective of restoring genetic material working with Master Breeders from Overseas to create new genetic material by restoring the original Elkhound, the Full Blood.
This litter that was successfully whelped in Montana highlights 8 of the very best Elkhound pups in the world currently. This success litter matches two of the Kamia Kennels preservation bloodlines, both extremely diverse as Vaeda is a Norwegian Elkhound type, Norrland background and ARCO is a Swedish Elkhound type, or Jamthund.
The pups are 4th generation pups on both sides of the match up, meaning both sides of this diverse pairing are Kamia Kennels lineages for decades, totally diverse lines raised simultaneously for this purpose years in advance planned for.
The Full Bloods are very instinct rich, having the best of both types and of course as they are both the same dna, these Fullbloods exhibit traits of the finest qualities ever seen. Literally no one alive has seen a Full Blood in North America, or for that matter anywhere in the world for 130 plus years, so it’s monumental to witness.
Hiking and handler focus of these particular lines coming together creates the ultimate hiking and companion dog for remote terrain. The pups of course could literally create brand new genetic material for either type, Norwegian Elkhound or Swedish Elkhound while being the best working Elkhound available.
Extreme advantages in health and longevity are one of the key aspects of this Full Blood Elkhound litter as the diversity of the genetics are at the very least 130 years apart, literally incredible to be able to have this diversity. It’s maximum health within the same DNA base.
Looks, style, behavior all feel just like the main old lineages of both types, but a very subtle blend of both types exist.
I have hiked now with pups from multiple Full Blood litters, they are superior hiking and working Elkhounds.
We have utilized our best preservation females in our Norwegian Elkhound base of genetics utilizing the superior Jamthund lineages we have as the sires. So far we have not went from the Swedish or Jamthund Females utilizing the best of the world Kamia Kennels Norwegian males but that is coming. The pups will be equally as potent and as high quality going either way.
This particular litter, Vaeda and ARCO blends some of the absolute oldest known lineages from many countries into this Full Blood set of pups so that the genetic contribution is from the absolute best.
Having many families now with our Fullbloods, many of them being past Elkhound clients they are familiar with our outstanding type Elkhounds, Norwegian Elkhound and Swedish Elkhound Jamthund lines, now they have Full Bloods. They are all thrilled!
We are only a few days in with this new litter but the response is wild, folks are so excited. Finally the tide has turned and the genetic pools for both Types, Norwegian and Swedish Elkhounds are now going to be rebuilt and new genetics added soon.
Linda has a very short new video on the brand new Full Blood litter and more will be added soon.
