Heather recently sent me this terrific update on Caesar, her Kamia Kennels Norwegian Elkhound male. She has been working him and training and developing this Rock Star into an incredible young male. He is one of the Famous Karu son’s and Willow was his famous mother.

This is old world lineage Norwegian Elkhound and Heather has been able to get him into some incredible hiking locations. This is a dream to see this rascal getting out and stretching out, growing into such a phenomenal specimen.

Heather is going to be working with me to utilize the genetics of Caesar in our preservation efforts for the Norwegian Elkhounds. Caesar is first generation bloodline of the Karu lineage in North America as his father was the only import of that lineage to leave the old country.

Its a wonderful thing that she has been able to develop this tremendous young Norwegian Elkhound male so well and keep him intact so that his incredible genetic contributions back to the breed can be realized. This is so very important to allow for the Norwegian Elkhound young males to be used in preservation.

Norwegian Elkhound preservation lineage males like Caesar are from the oldest known lineages of Norwegian Elkhounds in the world. This particular lineage traces back through Willow to some of the very best Norway Kennels. Caesar has a number of Nordic Champions in his background, his hunt instincts are front and center and he has lineage on both sides full of hunting Champions.

Caesar is one of the elite Norwegian Elkhounds as he of course has the incredible Norrland blood running his veins. This is the working Elkhound from the exact same region as the first Norwegian Elkhound the Norway Association based their “Breed Standard” on. These are Northern bred and raised Elkhounds and love winter.

Caesar’s Grandfather is none other than the Famous Pretty Boy Leif. His incredible background would take pages to cover in detail. On his dad’s side, Kamu was a Finnish Moose hunting Champion. His great grandfather, on his fathers side was the astounding Kassu, double Champion Norwegian Elkhound male in Finland.

There are few preservation males in the world of this calibre and we are so proud that Heather has been able to develop this incredible Rock Star to perfection. We will plan some of the very best matings for him over the years so that this genetic can carry on and begin to replenish the genetic pool of Norwegian Elkhounds in North America.

Karu, Pretty Boy Leif, Bram and Takoda are all unique males used strictly in the Kamia Kennels breeding preservation of Norwegian Elkhounds in North America. Those genetics will power Caesar to great off spring himself that can be utilized to further protect the Norwegian Elkhounds.
