Posso and Aurella are soon going to have a new litter of pups coming as Aurella is already bred to Posso. We are also planning a litter of Full Bloods with Posso and Revna.

Posso was imported after careful selection by the Master Breeders overseas to contribute to the foundation bloodlines of the Jamthund breed as well as be able to contribute to the Full Blood genetic restoration of the all types.

The heritage of Posso is incredible and I can outline some of the background genetics that power this superior Jamthund stud dog.

Posso comes from a very prolific and recognized pair of Jamthunds. They are full foundation bloodline Elkhounds going to the start of the association. He was from a litter of 11 little Jamthunds, all remarkable and powerful with full instincts intact and exceptional diversity. His mother, the highly recognized Citi, is a Moose hunting Champion in Finland, Karelian District. She is a powerful big female that can hunt all day and has full heritage lineage of Champions.

Posse is the father to Posso, he is a Champion Moose Hunting Jamthund again out of the Karelian District of Finland.

This is a fast moving big fella and has incredible stamina and cover a great deal of terrain fast. This is a very sought after trait by the Finnish hunters as they want the big males to be able to go, find the game and stay with them.

Posso takes after his parents in looks, style and ability. He has full instincts intact and both of the Champion parents are foundation lines so exceptional quality.

In order to have the new genetic base of Jamthunds established Posso was selected and one of the foundation males. He was already known to be a perfect match for the Rico genetics that came earlier and also the Aina genetics. Aina as you all know was the first foundation female Jamthund to be imported to be mated to Rico. That is the parents to Ark. Ark was then mated to Varella, the second foundation female to be sent over to establish the base of Jamthunds.

The master breeders knew that the combination of Posso, Aina, Ark, or Varella, all combined any direction with Rico lead to incredible Elkhounds. Posso was also the very best choice for the Full Blood restoration as well.

Varella is the mother of Aurella. Varella was the foundation female selected for additional genetic material to be added to the existing base of Rico and Aina. She was chosen for her depth of excellence. Her parents are both Double Champions. Her famous mother Varpu is a Bear Hunting Champion and Moose Hunting Champion. Her father as well, Double Champion also. Huugo is a Moose Hunting Champion and Show Champion. You can see where the depth of excellent traits and composure comes to Varella from.

Aurella was the result of mating Ark to Varella. We then took Aurella and mated her to Posso. This leads to the creation of depth in the genetic base of Jamthunds in Canada. As this is the second litter we will now hold back and female from this litter. This is as good a set of Jamthunds as there is in the world today.

The Full Blood connection with Posso and the revival of both Norwegian Elkhound type and the Swedish Elkhound type requires some of the absolute best females available in the world today. The incredible Revna is fueling this energizing resurgence of the breed with her incredible background.

Revna of course as all of you may already know is a direct link all the way back to the original Elkhounds, the Norrland bloodline. She is a phenomenal full instinct rich female Elkhound.

Revna carries so many great bloodlines it would be hard to tell her whole tale, but I’ll expand on some if it.

Revna has the direct ties to Norrland dogs, as Kamia Kennels is the only location those bloodlines exist anymore the Full Blood genetic base was decided to be placed here, using this exact lineage and our other great Norrland dogs. The Full foundation Jamthunds that trace back to original are dogs such as those imported, Like the incredible Posso. By combining Posso with Revna there are many other connections made.

Revna is a daughter of Karu. Karu was also sent at the exact same time as Varella and Posso as he was to fuel the genetic diversity and gene pool of the Norwegian Elkhounds, but also to fuel the Full Bloods. Karu’s lineage is of the highest quality in the world. His bloodline has never left the old country, his mother is the famous Rittu. She is one of the only Triple Champion females in the world.

Revna through her background carries 2 of the famous Nordic Champion Hunting males, she also has the Ravenstone bloodline and of course two of the best Norwegian Elkhound females in the world, her mother Luna and Grandmother Tekla. They are easily two of the very best and the Great Grandmother was such an incredible powerhouse female. All contribute to this stacked pedigree of Revna.

We have already seen Full Bloods from Revna using ARCO. They are magnificent.

The ones upcoming from Posso will be outstanding.

Posso and Revna combined bring all of the best handler focus, hunting, genetic diversity and excellence you can find in the world today together in the pups. These pups will be some of the happiest, nicest family dogs, yet full capability to hunt, hike and guard. These are going to be great hunting dogs, skilled on bear and full instinct rich Moose hunting Elkhounds.
