The insane good Full Blood Elkhound litter of 9 from Revna and Ark, that was whelped in Montana by my good friend Linda, they are 4 weeks old. I have some background on the females today, I did the males a couple days ago.

Linda is a pro at whelping and raising pups, she has been around Elkhounds close to 50 years or more so she is excellent to get them social and balanced and started out right. She feeds raw of course so they are healthy and fat and Revna is kept in magnificent shape. Here is the video.

These are some of the very best Elkhound genetics you can assemble in the world and quite honestly at any point in history on these females, the assembly would not be rivaled at any time.

I will showcase some of the amazing genetics in the background of these Full Blood Elkhound females so you have a clear picture of the depth of integrity and skill as well as excellence in the background.

It’s going to be one great female after another, no specific order really, but I do believe each of these females I am about share are equal to any anywhere, at anytime.

Tekla, Great Grandmother to the Full Blood Elkhound Pups.

I have said many times over the years that Tekla was in my opinion the Best Norwegian Elkhound female in the world. I still actually believe that today. It would take an incredible female to surpass this Norwegian Elkhound.

She carries the Ravenstone bloodline, renowned 50 year breeders they raised incredible Elkhounds. I believe the Ravenstone Kennel still holds the record for most Championships at Tufts show.

Tekla as you know her mother first generation in Canada, Norway bloodline, and her Dad, first Generation in Canada, Norway bloodlines. Both of these two were only used in our program. Tekla as well was only bred in our program.

Tekla carries close to the surface Two Nordic Champions in her genetics. She also traces all the way to foundation stock, Association start dogs, and much further of course. This is a direct link back to Varja, the first International working Champion in Norway, one of the most prolific females ever. Tekla brought that prolific nature in as her first litter was the famous Tekla Ten.

The Tekla offspring are all legends. We still have Teeko siring litters in our program, he was one of those Tekla ten. MANE and Luna were widely known as the ultimate matched pair of Norwegian Elkhound siblings. Tekla carries and passes down this incredible instinctive ability. She was a twin with her famous sister Tuva.

There would be no greater thing to share going from Tekla down, but I can add that I hiked with the mother of these incredible females her lifetime. What an astounding trio of Norwegian Elkhound females.

I could hike anywhere, anytime for as rugged and long a terrain trip I wanted to take with these Norwegian Elkhound females. Kamp was one of the six that battled that Diablo we ran into that time, Jaegar, Kamp, Tora, Takoda, GAEDA and Mia, all hospitalized after that. That tale for another day, but these females are fearless, they battle.

It was Tekla and Tuva that I relied on that time I had to hike the mountains up by Big White region, very rugged remote terrain. I had to do night work all night to leave a scent trail for Vienna that time. Totally dependable female Norwegian Elkhounds, total darkness, never had to worry once where they were or what was around me. Fantastic dogs. Vienna found our trail too, came out that next morning, I’ll share that some time too.

The litter of Ten on the night of the Super Moon came out in 3 hours, ultra easy. Best litter ever for even pups. I held back Luna and MANE and Teeko from that for foundation breeding.

Not sure I’ll ever have as good a pair as those two, but some seriously good pairs I have had and will have again. This Revna litter would be the one to produce as good matched pairs, no doubt.

Luna’s pups are all incredible. The siblings to Revna are insanely good. Luna as you may already know brings in the Norrland Bloodline. This is the most elite of the handler focus lineages of all Elkhounds. The Norrland Elkhounds are the foundation of All Elkhounds. So combining Takoda and Tekla was a match made thousands of years ago, carried forward all the great background Elkhounds.

Bringing the Finnish Rock Star Karu in for Luna was a dream we had for many years, the old breeders in Finland knew they had to bring out the best. As we are discussing the female Norwegian Elkhounds I know that this is going to be one of the most outstanding contributors to these Full Blood Elkhound Females of Revna, the Great Grandmother Rittu.

She is one of the very unique and gifted females that can be put on Moose, she can stay on them and hunt, even though she may cross a bear scent, she will remain on what was assigned. This is intensely gifted dogs. She is a Finnish Champion Moose Elkhound hunter.

Here is the special and unique part, they can put her on Bear, she can then stay on Bear, even if she crosses a Moose scent. Gifted doesn’t describe this. She is also Finnish Bear Champion. Rittu was so beautiful she also entered the Show and became and Beauty Champion. A triple Champion that the old boys knew would match our dogs flawlessly. They know!

We have only just begun the journey of incredible Elkhound genetics and I can go many levels deep, but we can step back 1 level from the father of these female Full Blood Elkhounds to Aina. Ark’s Mama.

I imported Aina from Ossi, a Master Breeder, awarded by the Finnish Kennel Klub for excellence in his program. Aina had a profound impact on the Elkhounds in North America. She was responsible for the genetic foundational start of the gene pool of Swedish Elkhound, (Jamthunds) in North America. She was the first founding Jamthund female. She also of course is the First Foundational Jamthund female to start the Full Blood Elkhound genetic pool. Her contributions will go on for ever!

Aina’s mother was very influential as the deciding factor to send Aina to be the foundation. Aina’s mother Lisa is a Finnish Bear Champion and very prolific. An excellent representation of the all you can be Jamthund female with ties all the way back to the foundation Swedish Elkhounds.

The background of the Full Bloods is lined with the exceptional Champion Hunting lines of all the best Swedish Elkhounds. Going back into this line only a little ways and we come to a Nordic Champion Swedish Elkhound as well. So we have Nordic Champions on both sides of those Full Blood Elkhound females of Revna. Quite incredible! They sent us the best they have.

No mention of Great Elkhounds would be complete without Ark’s Great Grandmother, Feija. Satu’s famous Triple Champion. As did Karu’s mama achieve incredible feats in hunting, so did Feija. She as well is Finnish Moose Champion, Finnish Bear Champion and Finnish Beauty Champion.

There are more females contributing to the foundation of the Full Bloods but as you can easily see this is a monumental group just in close proximity to the pups. The instinctive skill getting passed down to them is full and complete, from all sides. Every single dog contributes full Instinctive ability.

The female Full Blood Elkhound pups from Revna and Ark will be undoubtably some of the very best working Elkhounds in the world.

I will leave you with two of my best off leash companions. Tekla and Aina. Instinctive skills far beyond most Elkhounds, working bloodlines, handler focus, pure true instinct warriors. Those little females are going to be the best!
