Full Instincts – Bred For Remote Terrain – Incredible Handler Focus – Full Blood Elkhound Females

Mjrn and Linnie are two of the incredible pups that Karia and Ark produced and I am working with them in Northern Alberta is some rugged conditions and terrain. These two young Full Blood pups are intense! They are total Rock Stars!

Let’s face it, I have worked with literally more Elkhound pups than any other breeder in the world in remote terrain and these two are exceptional. Conditions are tough, it’s cold out, snow is deepening every day and these girls are powerhouse females. They are up for any day, any amount of time, they have some serious stamina, they have recall, they have handler focus.

Handler focus in these conditions, temperatures in the -26 range, it’s seriously important. I need my dogs and they as pups need to be focused on me. Instincts are clearly visible in this pair of remarkable female Elkhounds.

I know the background of the Full Blood Elkhounds we raise as well as any person could know a lineage having hiked with this lineage on both sides for generations. To see Instincts come out so strong and powerful in these young females in truly something to witness.

Both Ark and Karia, the parents of course they are so well known for the handler focus, I mean I have so much online about both of them it’s crazy. My “little sidekick Karia” she was by my side her entire life. Her entire demeanor and behavior pattern is amplified in these daughters of hers. Ark you have all seen the videos of him and I, he has been my best pal since his first minute of life onward. He was an only pup, it was him and I. Period! Again, this behavior and instinct from Ark is also amplified in his daughters.

We can go back another generation, I literally hiked into remote terrain, way North of St. Petersburg Russia, on the Finnish side near the border, Karelian District, with Ark’s mother, young Aina at an age a bit younger than these pups, she was around that 8 week mark. Off leash and out in no man’s land. She lead me right to a Moose shooting stand, what are the odds? Neither of us ever been there, go figure!

Look back to Kalia, the amazing big Elkhound female daughter of Hachi, she hiked her entire time with me off leash and was such a protective and focused companion. All these instincts of Kalia, Aina, Ark, Karia all seem enhanced in the Full Bloods.

We literally haven’t even touched on the background of the dogs, Karu, have you seen how glued he is to me, can you believe his granddaughters are literally better? I mean wow.

Capable, strong, intense drive to be aware of the surroundings. I have seen some very aware pups in my time, but the Full Bloods are right near the top for this trait. They are always checking, always watching, listening, they stance out as young females, alert, they spark fast, these are intense little watch and guard dogs, fearless too. Totally fearless!

Smart, easy to work with, they pay attention. They have an ability to understand subtle signs and gestures, I really don’t have to say or do much, it’s very energy based with these two. The check in times are awesome, the range they set is very good, nice, close not too far. They are devoid of stubborn. There is zero trace of it.

Not a instance of stubborn have I seen yet. Always willing to work and please. Attentive and focused.

I can easily see the ability of the Triple Champion Rittu, Karu’s mother coming out in these incredibly smart young Full Bloods. You can see Kamu, the Great Grandfather, double Champion, working Elkhounds.

Reaching even further back a little ways on Ark’s side the Triple Champion Fjieya in ability, style, personal nature shines through. I was so blessed to have been able to mee that amazing companion of Satu’s, her incredible achievements are legendary with her.

There are more great foundation Elkhounds, all preservation lineage in these females and I know I will see the best traits of all of them coming out in full splendor in these Full Bloods.

We have another litter coming of these Full Bloods, this time in Montana. Very soon. Linda will whelp out Vaeda. We all know Vaeda and she was mated to ARCO, who is a son of Ark and Varella. Again, the can talk about the background of those two forever as I have hiked that lineage even longer. Intense working Full Blood Elkhounds coming again right away.
