We have decided to place the young phenomenal stud Jämthund male ARCO for sale in a great home. We wish to keep him intact and retain all breeding rights to this male. We had decided to keep him as a breeding male initially at our co-breeder location in Alberta with Michael and Sarah but have decided now to place him in a home.

We will expect the new owner to keep ARCO intact and also we expect to be able to utilize him as a stud in the future years. It may be a number of years before we need him but it’s extremely difficult to find as good a set of genetics as ARCO has anywhere in the world today, so we need to keep that genetic.

ARCO’s Parents are Kamia’s Ark and Kamia’s Varella – Foundation Lineages

ARCO has been placed in the Desna training program, so he has all his early skill building in place already. Michael and Sarah have been excellent with his ongoing training, he has off leash, on leash, house, kennel, road and vehicle, social skills and much more already in place. He will be very responsive to more training and is an excellent companion for an outdoor lifestyle person.

ARCO already has all the vaccinations he will ever require, all three sets of boosters and Rabies is all completed and he has a full Health Certificate as well.

This is a son of Ark and Varella, two of the best genetic bloodlines of the Jämthunds in the world so he is a merge of incredible traits, working, hunting, hiking and protection in remote terrain.

ARCO is one of only a handful of Jämthunds in the world who has Nordic Champion Jämthund ancestors. It’s a very rare thing for a Jämthund to be a Nordic Champion, the work and dedication to travel and trial a full working Champion Jämthund to more countries so as to achieve the ultimate recognition is extensive. A Nordic Champion as you well know, has achieved his title of Champion Hunter in at least 3 out of 5 Nordic Countries.

This is an incredible accomplishment that many do not appreciate. First the dedication of the dog to continue to excel is incredible, against all the best those countries offer. The ability of the handler willing to go and stay the course, traveling and all the expenses and time commitments this is literally unreal for many. To have a dog as good as this in the background is well, no words can describe our appreciation for the breeders in the background.

Jämthund males are the oldest known companion males of any breed and have for over 10,000 years worked remote regions with the handler. To have the opportunity to have a link directly to the past of dogs and man of this significance is remarkable really. Unchanged in almost all ways, almost identical to the old working dogs of centuries ago, ARCO is the ultimate big fella.

Of course the background is loaded with Master Breeders from Scandinavia, but none so special of course as Satu. She was instrumental in organizing the base of Jamthunds in North America and we will recognize her achievements and selfless contributions here. Hats off to her for assisting all of us here to have the ability to work with such great pups as ARCO.

This is a special opportunity for someone, a very rare chance to get one of the best Males in North America, and quite easily on par with the very best in the old country. In fact, as you all are aware his famous mother, the second main bloodline and genetic contributor to the gene pool, Jamthund Varella was born in Finland, Karelian District, from Champion hunters.

Of course Ark’s reputation speaks volumes as well, as the first Jämthund male born in Canada, his own mother Aina, she was the very first gene pool contributor female. Thus ARCO has two of the main contribution females in him, and his Dad and his Grandfather Rico, the legend who was first stud to start all the genetics, all are in ARCO.
