16 Years, Repeat Clients, Two Great Elkhounds

Dorothy and Dan are awesome clients and friends of all of us at Kamia Kennels. Back in 2008 Dorothy and Dan came for one of our pups, a stunning male named Loki. He was an inseparable companion for both of them for over a Decade and a Half. He lived a wonderful life full of love and adventure.

Many Years of Adventures Ahead

Dan and Dorothy embark on another great set of adventures with Torin after spending a great lifetime of memories with Loki.

Just recently Dorothy and Dan traveled over to our amazing co-breeders Michael and Sarah to pick up Torin. He is a phenomenal big fella from Karia and Ark. He is going to have the best life ever with Dorothy and Dan and have tons of adventure.

It’s an amazing thing to have great families get our pups. We are so proud of all the folks who come to us for the companion that will share a great deal of time in their lives. We truly feel honored to be a part of such a personal and lovely connection that a couple and family have with their dog. For us to be able to contribute to the joy and fun ahead for many years is profoundly rewarding.

It’s with a great deal of pride that I can share stories like the one today of Dan and Dorothy, the great life they had with Loki, the first pup and now the adventures ahead they have with Torin. I have to say, it’s so profound and heartwarming.

I remember distinctly working with a very young pup years ago, Little Mia, raising her up, along the way I got my ole boy Takoda as a young pup. While I developed those two foundation Elkhounds and developed our kennels, we were excited about the future. That litter of which Loki was part of is etched in my favorite memories, such was the wonder and fun of those rascals playing and having fun while I prepared them for the new handlers. Dorothy and Dan waiting patiently till they could get Loki. What memories of that first time and all through life they have stayed in touch, sharing great stories of that fabulous male.

Now, here we are and the memories are still continuing, the great adventures still coming forth. Dorothy and Dan sharing with me again the fun and great times.

The litter is different but Ole Takoda he and Mia they trained and mentored a young pup for me in the mountains, a little Kalia. She was a stout big girl and learned fast. Awesome female. Many years later I held back a little pup, my sidekick, Karia from Kalia/Karu litter. I raised her up. She eventually was placed with Michael and Sarah to whelp out a new litter. My big boy Ark, sat with him when he was born, same as Karia, he was the sire to that litter. Torin of course the result of all that. Fascinating for me the ties that bind all this together.

How things change, but stay the same, so great to have these lineages that make lives full and exciting, Dan and Dorothy experience this new joy of completeness with Torin now as they had with Loki. Many years of fun and companionship ahead for all of them. Michael and Sarah experience the rewarding aspects of raising great dogs and I gain friendship and satisfaction from all. It’s a great time, no doubt.

Enjoy a few really cool photos of Dan and Loki, then Dan and Torin, neat as can be. Dorothy and Loki and Dorothy and Torin, you could not get the stars to align better for all.
