The future of the Jamthunds in North America is doing extremely well with the Aurella and Posso litter. These are foundation lineage dogs — they trace right back to the very start of the Association. This is not just a good pairing; this is some of the best hunt lines ever assembled on this continent.
Of course, the Jamthund begins way back thousands of years ago, but closer to home there are generations of the best in these pups. The Jamthund, I have found, is behaviorally very close across the lines, and the more litters I raise — generation after generation under the same architectural behavioral modeling and mentoring — the more it becomes clear that there is little, if any, main difference in the core behavior.
Aurella and Posso are pair for life. We have utilized all the architecture available in our program to raise these pups. The mentorship is apparent. The pack mentality is totally evident.

This is true pack environment, with real mentors all around. The entire pack energy together has literally raised these two litters. Every senior dog, every female, every male, every stable presence contributed to the development. I honestly believe this could be the most important illustration we’ve ever had of how our pack atmosphere enhances development. It’s visible in every pup, every movement, every instinct they show.
It’s a fascinating time in the North American Jamthund world with this litter coming on as full breeding and restoration pups. None are in companion placement — every single pup is in Restoration and breeding. This is how you rebuild a species‑level dog. This is how you preserve the Jamthund in North America.

Major thanks to all the Stewards assisting in this. They are doing the Jamthund world a huge thing, and hats off to them. We will be excited to watch the development of these pups under their care.

The PACK mentality, behavior and helping has been evident in my kennel for a long time, but again it surfaces today as well. Senior female Karia had 6 big Norwegian Pups, and Aurella had 4 big Jamthunds. They were literally whelping within hours so I moved one of the big boys from Karia to Aurella to even the litter load. It’s totally funny, the big boy was moved early hours, but he still goes up to his brothers in their pen like he knows of course. But, at the same time, he thinks he is Jamthund, too funny!
It’s seems like yesterday, but it’s more like a decade ago, the two big girls, Great Grandma Aina and Grandma Kalia, they were best pals. Working together everyday, supporting each other, managing territory, range, closing gaps, moving through always aware of each other, fascinating to watch. Here now, way later to see the Granddaughter of Aina, and daughter of Kalia with pups raised by both in supporting environments and being able to take the six week old pups into the mountains and once again, supporting each other, side by side, very cool, very cool indeed!
