The Ark and Karia Full Bloods are the future of the Elkhound breed. They are the New Genetic material that is being added back into the pool of Elkhound genetics.

For the last 130 years the genetic pool has been depleted only, no new genetic material added. Finally after decades of planning and organizing with our co-breeders and master breeders around the world Kamia Kennels is finally adding the new genetics back in. The litter of Full Bloods from Karia and Ark represent influential bloodlines from many countries, but huge representation of course from the Finland genetic pool combining with the Canadian ancient lineages.
Master breeders from Finland have been a huge proponent of the new bloodlines as this litter of course represents the best of the working bloodlines.
Karu is the father of Karia. He was imported by us quite a few years back, his background is legendary.
Aina is the mother of Ark, she was also imported before Karu and was a mainstay in preparing for the return of the fullbloods. Ark is an incredible Jamthund stud dog.
Aina was selected as the founding female to set the genetic base for the Jamthunds in North America and as well future Full Blood genetic material. Aina has contributed immensely to the return of the Full Bloods but also the entire Jamthund program in North America.
The mother of Karia of course was one of the main Norwegian Elkhound females with the background to the old Swedish lines and she has been a huge proponent of establishing this genetic material.
Kalia was a powerhouse female, hike all day, whelp with zero issues, raise great pups, had tremendous handler focus and was a full instinct female. I literally spent her entire time off leash in the remote terrain. Phenomenal Elkhound to contribute genetic material that we know integrates well with these lineages for the future.
The initial planned mating of the Full Bloods was with Kalia and Rico. But we were unsuccessful with that mating, so we had to wait till we had a daughter of Kalia, which is Karia and we had a son from Rico. Which is Ark.
Rico was also from the master Breeder Satu, she is one of the legendary hunting and working Jamthund breeders of Champions in Finland. Russ and Beth our co-breeders have Rico and it’s been so powerful to have the combination of Rico and Aina for the creation of the Jamthund base and now of course the Full Blood base of genetics.
The full bloods that are getting established now trace back to foundation stock on all directions. The very best hunting and working full instinct rich Elkhounds of all types involved to create the new genetics.
