She is extremely interested in saving the Norwegian Elkhound and quite literally is working tirelessly to get the genetic restoration bloodlines established.
Linda will go down as one of The MAIN Contributors and Factors in the saving of the Norwegian Elkhound breed in North America!
Her expertise in raising pups and her abilities are literally unmatched in setting the pups up correctly for the new handlers. She has a very unique energy that the pups adore and love and her ability to bond with all the Norwegian Elkhounds we have is very special.
Whelping preservation lineage Norwegian Elkhounds in North America is literally only done with Kamia Kennels Elkhounds and in the USA Linda is the main co-breeder whelping out the preservation Elkhounds. Her friend Tammy has also assisted us in some litters but Linda is basically running the entire process.
The expertise and knowledge of the Norwegian Elkhound goes back decades with Linda and her ability to train, work, develop the working Elkhound comes from her long history with them.
Her current working and hunting companion the famous Tikka who comes from one of the very best ancient lineage Kamia Kennels Elkhounds accompanies her all the time. Tikka and Linda are always working to keep the yard safe, the predators out, the scoundrels like the feed bag destroying Racoons are no match for Tikka, Linda puts her on them.
The Incredible Lil Griz was and is one of Linda’s favorite Norwegian Elkhounds. She is extremely proud of this preservation and restoration blood line Elkhound. Griz will go on to power a legacy of genetic power for the Norwegian Elkhound and Linda has raised her from the moment she came out and developed her today into one of the best Norwegian Elkhounds in the world.
Without the help, the expertise, the success Linda has with the whelping and raising, Kamia Kennels would be having a tough time, but also the Norwegian Elkhound breed as a whole. Right now, today, early 2026 Linda is raising one of the most Historic litters ever.
Yes, Historic, she has successfully whelped out the First Ever Full Blood Elkhound litter ever born in USA and she has them at the 6 week mark growing so good and learning fast. Instincts coming out and flourishing she has them so well prepared for the next stage of development at the new homes.
Her brand new protege, “Nisse” aka “Tiny” is a stunningly beautiful Full Blood female from this litter. She has selected her to be the main genetic restoration female, although all could be and may be utilized, but Nisse will be primary.
Nisse most likely will come up here early in the spring for some Desna training work and development, but her early hands on experience with Linda has and will set her up for life.
I can’t Thank Linda Enough for the great effort that her and Darrell are putting in, we know the work it takes and its so awesome to have her as part of our efforts.
