Varja has been doing so good with her little butterballs, oh my goodness. They are 10 days and growing so fat and fast. This is an exceptional group of Norwegian Elkhound pups.
Butterball Norwegian Elkhound Pups
Full Instinct, Defect Free, Preservation Lineage, Most Diverse Bloodline, Oldest Known Genetic of Norwegian Elkhounds
Some quick facts on this litter of Norwegian Elkhounds.
This is one of the most diverse Norwegian Elkhound genetics in North America. Karu is the father of Varja, his genetic had never left the old country, he is the first Norwegian Elkhound of that lineage to leave.
Varja’s Grandfather Bram was also extremely diverse as he was never used in any other program than Kamia Kennels. Only used in our program with Varja’s Grandmother and our famous Tora as well. He was first generation in Canada also.
Varja’s mother carries the famous Ravenstone bloodline, one of the most renowned Norwegian Elkhound lines out of the UK. This famous lineage was and is still I believe the top Champion winning Kennel in the history of the Crufts shows. They imported some of the very best out of Sweden and Norway with a 50 year plus breeding history.
Odin, father of the pups is a son of none other than Pretty Boy Leif and Vida. Through the combination of these two incredible parents Odin brings 11 of the 12 Westminster Hound Group Winning Elkhounds in his background. He has incredible Norrland blood, the most ancient lineage known of all the Elkhounds. He is full preservation lineage going back to the start of the Associations and thousands of years beyond.
This is by far the best handler focused lineage between Varja and Odin as both are from the two most distinguished bloodlines in the world for remote terrain work with the handler.
Hunt capabilities are superior to every other line pretty much anywhere in the world. The Odin/Varja pups carry only a few generations back the famous Finnish hunting Double Champion Grandfather Kassu, the Triple Champion Grandmother Rittu, the Norwegian Nordic Champion Mini G and also closer to the surface the incredible Nordic Champion from Norway RM Kjekk.
Of course, her namesake ancestor, the most prolific Norway International Champion Varja, which I believe was the very first International Champion. An incredibly prolific female having had 44 Norwegian Elkhound pups.
In the world of Norwegian Elkhounds today, I do not believe you could find a better background of full instincts, capability to work with the handler, zero health defects as this is full preservation line and absolutely the most diverse genetics to ensure health and longevity.
Check out these rascals nursing, Wow, growing so well. Hat’s off to Linda for the exceptional job she does with Varja and her pups, but also all the pups she raises and the other dogs she has there. She is a mainstay of our Kamia Kennels cobreeder program and right now, Montana is the location with the absolute best Elkhounds nursing anywhere.
