Nonsense Articles About Bears and Dogs

Wow, there is so much nonsense written about bears and dogs that it blows my mind. If I had my way, I would remove 99% of the crap articles out there on this subject. Total idiots talking about bears and dogs is all I see.

Accurate Bear Dog Intel

Get Accurate Bear Dog Information, Not Nonsense Crap

Not one of them is qualified in any way to speak on this subject, and the amount of Bad information is rampant.

Let’s deal with a few of the nonsense comments.

Most write – Leave your dog at home.

Well first off, what type of dog are you leaving at home? You sure wouldn’t be leaving one of my dogs at home if you are hiking in bear country, it would be the first thing going. Before a gun, before a pack, before a radio, before anything, you would get the bear dog from Kamia Kennels.

These morons that are writing to advise people what to do in bear country should be banned from the Internet, truly, just utter garbage they spew out.

A great bear dog like all Kamia Kennels dogs will smell the bear long before you get in danger, I am talking a mile out. Yeah, a mile out. Bears stink, dogs like mine can smell them. If they are in close proximity we would already know they are there and are moving through appropriately. But bears and my dogs, they have been moving through rugged country for 4000 years. This is not new news.

A great bear dog can move off the bear if it is a situation where the bear is coming – showing aggression. My dogs are going to circle that bear, move that bear, keep it away while you move to safety. Dogs don’t engage with bears but they do get right in the face, move around, circle around get it distracted and get it away from you. Dogs like mine do not get bears mad. Whoever said that is again, a moron.

Almost all encounters the dogs won’t even bark, literally, they can simply stand and watch the bear. In the very rare occurrence where a bear is showing aggression the dog will stand it’s ground, move the bear if need be away from you. But almost all the time you can simply go around the bear, or the bear goes around you. Dogs like mine do not bring the bear in, do not antagonize the bear, do NOT Cause problems.

I am living in a very high bear density region, for crying out loud I have bear crossing signs on the highway just down from my driveway, the major Hwy 3, yes, bear crossing signs. There are tons of bear here because of the habitat and the snow load in the upper mountains. We get tons of snow so the bears enjoy the ability to hibernate. The berries and food are plentiful, it’s perfect bear habitat.

I’ll share one of many encounters, I was hiking with two mentor dogs, Tekla and Tuva, they were training young Tofu, she was a beautiful granddaughter of Tekla. She was 16 weeks old. We came upon a sow and 2 cubs. She was in our path, I easily could see a way around. So, I simply told the three go move her up the tree and I started to go around. In like 10 seconds without even barking, not a single bark, they had the cubs and sow up the tree, little Tofu standing right under the sow, and we walked around. Not a single growl or noise from the sow, or the dogs including little Tofu. Within 25 seconds the sow was already back on the ground and we were walking away. Not a bit of fuss or trouble or concern. Literally an occurrence that happens over and over. Bear dogs like Kamia Kennels dogs do not freak out, they do not get stupid, they have generations of instinct and skill with this.

Every single person that wants to hike in North American remote wilderness should have a Kamia Kennels bear dog. That is the most important thing you should take. You don’t need to know anything about bears, or interactions with bears, the dogs know instinctively how to deal with the bears. Leave the dog to handle the situation, you simply find a new path. It’s not hard. Turn left or right! Leave the dog, it will come shortly.

These gomers that are writing stories about dogs causing a problem are putting out serious misinformation. It’s not bear dogs causing the problem, it’s people that don’t know anything about bear dogs, or dog instincts in general, so they wouldn’t even know a bear dog exists that is the problem.

People that spew this nonsense garbage in my opinion should shut up. Quit writing about something they know nothing about.

Honest folks go online, they read countless articles about misinformation, get all the wrong impressions then venture into bear country unprepared. Under the impression from idiots that they are better off without a bear dog. These nonsense spewing freaks have caused good people to “NOT” investigate the “Right” dog, therefore caused them untold risks.

If you are going to write about bears and hiking, at least you should be able to be bright enough to learn a little about the oldest know breed of dog, and the oldest known job of that dog interacting with man, which was to work to protect the man from bears. I mean, come on, if you don’t know that basic fact, the longest standing fact about dogs, man and nature, then be quiet.

Tucker is one of our pups, one of the most famous Bear dogs in North America. Tucker works with Grizzly every single day of his life. Many days he will be interacting with multiple Grizzly at a time, up to 20 or more in a single location. This is an extremely valuable asset to Phil, who has him and has trained him. Phil runs a camp on the banks of two rivers in the Yukon and he films bears all the time. He has been working with wild Grizzly for 40 years, he knows the value of a good bear dog.

Do not underestimate the power and safety of a great bear dog in the wild. Do not listen to folks that do not talk about, or understand the value of a bear dog. An actual working bloodline bear dog. If all they are talking is Nonsense and never, ever mention a great bear dog, stop reading these other articles of nonsense and focus on good intel.

Individuals like Phil put their life on the line everyday to film and document life in the wild with Grizzly, he always, 100% of the time has his bear dog Tucker with him.
