Chlorine and Elkhounds Do NOT Mix

The ancient lineage Elkhounds are one of the healthiest dogs on the planet due to a history of having clean water for survival. Also snow is a major part of an Elkhound diet in the winter if the creeks and rivers freeze. They will eat snow as a replacement for water for months in the main part of the winter.

Jaegar down at the spring fed creek

Jaegar a massive Norwegian Elkhound is down at the creek for a drink of spring fed pure water.

However if you have a creek and it’s flowing in winter the Elkhounds will venture down to it and get a drink.

May all your dreams of having an Elkhound remain healthy be fulfilled but if you are giving Chlorinated water to your Elkhound, well good luck then. The dog is going to be affected immensely by this, fluoride for a dog is also extremely hard on them.

Do not give chlorinated water to your Elkhound if at all possible not too. It’s easy to get some spring water, or a small distiller, perhaps it’s a snowy winter and you can arrange for the new water system in the winter while the dog can have snow as a replacement.

Do whatever it takes basically to get the chlorine and fluoride out of the dogs water. Of course it’s not beneficial to you and your kids either, as you can well imagine???

But having clean water, good resting areas, raw diets and little to no EMF around the dog and access to grounding as much as absolutely possible the lifetime of health is easily achieved. Almost every single issue that a dog encounters in life is introduced by us in our care and feeding/water/maintenance of our Elkhounds.

Do your best to give your dog the opportunity to be all it can be.
