Yes, this upcoming litter from Revna and Pretty Boy Leif is years in the making. Off leash Norwegian Elkhound pups of the highest caliber are on the way soon if the mating is successful.

Revna is a daughter of Luna and Karu. This combination of genetics carries exceptional Norwegian Elkhounds. Triple Champion Rittu out of Finland is the Grandmother to Revna. Nordic Champions RM Kjekk and Mini-G are in the background of Tekla, the other Grandmother of Revna.

Pretty Boy Leif is loaded with Grand Champions and superior Norwegian Elkhounds. His famous Grandfather is the second highest ranked Norwegian Elkhound in North America of all time.

Both Revna and Pretty Boy Leif are Rock Stars in off leash. Bred specifically for handler focus and off leash work, Revna is a masterpiece in the wilderness. Pretty Boy Leif has been skilled in off leash for years now. He is full mentor status, and in the world of hiking dogs to achieve that milestone among all the great Kamia Kennels Norwegian Elkhounds is no small feat. Only select extremely skilled Elkhounds achieve that.

Revna is old world, a stunning magnificent dark female that traces to the roots of all Elkhounds. She is one of the last remaining links to the old Norrland bloodlines. They of course are the foundation of all Elkhounds.

Off leash is instinctive in that lineage. It’s been bred to be present in all pups for hundreds and hundreds of generations of litters. Kamia Kennels is the world wide Norwegian Elkhound preservation breeder of this ancient lineage.

Michael and Sarah at Golden Ring Elkhounds , co-breeders of Kamia Kennels have Revna on the way to the clinic today as we will be using AI breeding with Leif today to ensure a successful hook-up. It will be done using a collection and immediately inseminate Revna, basically called a Natural mating, but using AI collection and insemination to account for any chance of a non hookup or slip mating. Revna is a little bit taller than Leif and a slip mating could occur. AI removes that potential of missing this great combination of genetics.

We recently used this exact same procedure with Silver Nova and Leif as well, she again is taller than Leif so it allows for us to successful get a mating in these situations.
